Workshop Specialist (Limited – Term) – Data-Driven Discovery Center for Biology

The Data-Driven Discovery Center for Biology (D3B) is committed to pioneering the future of bioscience research by leveraging state-of-the-art computational techniques and data analytics. Our mission focuses on driving advancements in neuroscience, cellular biology, and immunology through the integration of computer science and biological research. As part of the Allen Institute, D3B aims to be a global leader in creating actionable insights from complex biological data.

We are seeking a Workshop Specialist to help us develop the Summer Workshop on the Dynamic Brain (SWDB) and related efforts for the summer of 2024. SWDB is a two-week intensive course co-organized by the Allen Institute and the University of Washington targeting graduate students and post-docs that uses tools and data from the Allen Institute to teach students to address questions in neuroscience. The course uses a range of data, including two-photon imaging, electrophysiology, and electron microscopy, as well as a variety of computational techniques using Python-based software packages. The successful candidate should have experience with systems neuroscience, data analysis, and have a passion for communicating technical ideas to eager students.

This position is a 40 hours per week Limited Term Assignment, with an expected duration between May 2024 to September 2024.
