Data Integration Administrator III – Central IT

The mission of the Allen Institute Administration team is to provide support and structure to the scientific divisions. Coinciding with the team science approach, administration helps facilitate team learning and the overall mission of the institute.

We’re looking for an experienced Data Integration Administrator who is a collaborative and sustainability-minded problem-solver to join the Allen Institute’s Central IT team. You’ll use your in-depth knowledge of SaaS products, APIs and data flow analysis to work with the broad range of applications at the Allen Institute to build effective processes, drive standardization, and develop streamlined integrations based on established best practices within each application and how they intertwine with the Allen Institute. You’ll partner with groups across the Institute to bring creative enhancements to current processes, create sustainable solutions, and enable automation through the effective use of each platform.

This position may be suitable for someone with a background in information technology, professional services, customer success, data flow management, database ownership, product ownership, or something related to business intelligence. Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with the organization to better organize existing data flows and queries and to plan new initiatives
  • Create recommendations for multiple applications and how they can interconnect data
  • Perform requirements analysis for requested changes in applications
  • Design and develop data flows and connections to move data to and from systems
  • Partner with senior leadership to understand the needs and direction of different business units to create recommendations
  • Establish and maintain technical documentation related to applications and their flows

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of degree and experience required
  • 3 years of professional experience using and managing data flows and connections
  • 3 years of professional experience working with requirements gathering and solution design
  • Ability to recommend process, dashboard, workflow, and other business improvements based on team/individual requirements, spending forecasts, and risk assessments
  • Ability to convey information easily between Scientific, IT and Administrative units
  • Experience with platforms similar to or including: Atlassian, Oracle, Boomi, Active Directory, Concur, PowerBI, and Power Apps

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 5+ years of professional experience using and managing data flows and connections
  • 5+ years of professional experience working with requirements gathering and solution design
  • Experience managing SaaS application rollouts
  • Participation in an organization’s IAM deployment
  • Background in the issues and tools specific to scientific research computing
  • Ability to balance competing priorities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to navigate challenging group dynamics through consensus-building
  • Strong executive communication skills with the ability to condense large amounts of information into high levels points focusing on critical information

Physical Demands

  • Fine motor movements in fingers/hands to operate computers and other office equipment

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • This is an essential job and expected to report for work regardless of weather and/or other conditions
  • Occasional evening and weekend hours required

Annualized Salary Range

$101,250 - $141,750*

* Final salary depends on the required education for the role, experience, level of skills relevant to the role, and work location, where applicable.
