Sr. Oracle Product Owner – Administration

The mission of the Allen Institute administration team is to provide support and structure to the scientific divisions. Coinciding with the team science approach, administration helps facilitate team learning and the overall mission of the institute.
As a key member of the Admin IT Team for the Allen Institute at large, the Oracle Product Owner is the Product Owner for Oracle HCM ERP Cloud solutions and manages Oracle HCM vendor relationships. This role is responsible for the overall coordination, status reporting, and stability of project-oriented work efforts for human resources and enterprise resources planning systems, and works in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment. This position will establish and implement project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and scope, adhere to high quality standards, and meet customer expectations. This position also operates in a cloud environment to work towards continuous delivery, understand orchestration, and leverage it to guarantee uptime
This position requires extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies, tools, techniques, resource management practices, and change management techniques. This role is also technical, requiring a mixture of architectural knowledge, technical leadership, operational expertise in a cloud setting, as well as the ability to communicate plans, manage risks, and deliver to schedule. Critical thinking and sound judgment are crucial for establishing a strategic approach to developing an application architecture to support research dedicated to answering some of the biggest questions in bioscience and accelerating research worldwide.
The ideal candidate for the role expresses an entrepreneurial spirit in building business solutions and will work effectively with business units to understand their requirements, translate into functional designs, develop test cases, and implement sustainable business systems.
