Technical Project Manager II – Allen Institute for Neural Dynamics
Our mission at the Allen Institute is to advance our understanding of how the brain works in health and disease. Using a team science approach, we strive to uncover the neural basis of behavior through technological innovation, cutting-edge experiments, modeling, and theory. Our efforts will shed light on the mechanisms of cognitive function and how they contribute to neuropsychiatric disorders such as depression, ADHD and addiction.
We are seeking a Technical Project Manager II to join the Scientific Computing team, where our goal is to facilitate rapid processing and sharing our AIND data and tools with neuroscientists everywhere. AIND’s style of discovery science requires nimble projects that flexibly pivot as we learn. In this role, you will support cross-functional projects, enhancing communication and maximizing impact with internal teams and external collaborators. The TPM II will oversee intake and clarification of projects, working with software, hardware, and scientific teams to define requirements. The individual will organize meetings, analyze data, and develop prototypes to collect use cases, convert these to technical requirements, and work with a cross-functional team to implement application-specific solutions. Success in this role requires effective cross-functional communication with scientists and engineers and the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment. The TPM II will write code to work with scientific data stored in files, databases, and lab information management systems to proactively identify issues, troubleshoot solutions, and drive timely outcomes.
The Allen Institute believes that team science significantly benefits from the participation of diverse voices, experiences and backgrounds. Progress in science benefits from multiple perspectives. We are committed to increasing diversity across every team and encourage people from all backgrounds to apply for this role.
